Dr. Besa Xhabija is an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Windsor, where she investigated the regulation of receptor-mediated endocytosis. Dr. Xhabija’s research focuses on cancer biology, particularly the molecular mechanisms underlying breast cancer, and has resulted in numerous publications and presentations. She is a member of the Michigan Lifestage Environmental Exposures and Disease (M-LEEaD) Center and the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. Her work has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Lucinda Hinsdale Stone Junior Faculty Award and the Golden Apple in Excellence in Teaching. Dr. Xhabija is committed to advancing scientific knowledge and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
