Dr. Cascino is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist and health services researcher interested in healthcare delivery, health equity, and disparities in access to therapies for patients with pulmonary hypertension and heart failure. His current work is focused on the identification of barriers in access to healthcare, understanding disparities in the use of advanced therapies such as heart transplant and left-ventricular assist devices in heart failure patients, identification of optimal timing of left-ventricular assist devices, impact of policy change on access to therapies, and optimizing the use of exercise rehabilitation through novel modes of delivery.
